$BE - The AI Energy Play Bloom Energy Corporation Class ANYSE:BEdoublechonkPaul Pelosi (Nancy Pelosi's husband) just made his first-ever disclosed Bloom Energy purchase $3-12M across stock and long-dated calls, those are some seriously beefy buys even for the Pelosi' ━━ WHY THE POWER STORY IS HEATING UP ━━ AI data centers are straining grid capacity faster than utilities can build new connections. Interconnection queues run years long in most markets. Hyperscalers are responding by building their own on-site power instead of waiting — which is Bloom's entire business model (solid oxide fuel cells). ━━ THE CATALYSTS ━━ Brookfield Asset Management committed up to $5B to deploy Bloom-powered fuel cells across AI data centers, structured as a power-as-a-service model that removes the customer's upfront capex burden. Oracle is in for up to 2.8GW of contracted power. For scale: using the same ratio analysts applied to Bloom's Project Jupiter deal, that's roughly enough electricity for 2 million homes — for one customer's data centers. Total backlog sits at ~$20B, growing faster than revenue. Bloom turned profitable in both Q1 and Q2 2026, a real inflection after years of losses. ━━ THE RISK ━━ The $20B backlog figure is soft. Bloom's actual Remaining Performance Obligations (RPO) — the contractually locked-in number was only ~$493M as of March 31, 2026. That's a massive gap between the headline figure and what's formally committed. A short-seller report from Hunterbrook Media ("Bloom's Big Lie," July 2026) argues there may not be enough scandium — a key material in solid oxide fuel cells in the entire global market to meet production for the Oracle deal alone, let alone the rest of the backlog. ━━ WHERE THE STOCK SITS ━━ BE is still roughly 40% off its all-time high of $351.28, we're happy to enter anywhere around here and will buy any deep up to around $174 area, below that we'd like to wait and see ━━ INVALIDATION ━━ Thesis weakens if RPO fails to convert into revenue over the next 2-3 quarters, or if independent verification confirms Bloom cannot secure sufficient scandium supply to deliver on the Oracle/Brookfield commitments. Either would suggest the backlog is more aspirational than real. ━━ Educational content. Not financial advice. Congressional trading disclosures are not investment recommendations.
