The final date for Disney guests to enjoy the Rainforest Cafe has changed.Disney’s relationship with Rainforest Cafe dates back to the 1990s, when the first location on Disney property opened at what was then the Downtown Disney Marketplace at Walt Disney World in 1996, replacing the former Chef Mickey’s restaurant. A second Walt Disney World location followed at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 1998. However, it has now been delayed by two months – although it’s unclear when exactly in November the restaurant will close down for good.Rainforest Cafe at Disney Village is one of Disneyland Paris’s most heavily themed restaurants, recreating a tropical jungle with dense foliage, aquariums, waterfalls, animatronic animals, and periodic thunderstorm effects. Its menu leans heavily into American-style comfort food, including burgers, ribs, pasta, fajitas, and sharing plates, alongside cocktails and oversized desserts.Reviews are generally positive about the setting, but more mixed on the food and value. It currently holds a 4.3/5 Google rating and 3.7/5 on Tripadvisor. Recent guests frequently praise the immersive atmosphere and family appeal, while recurring criticisms focus on high prices, inconsistent food quality, and occasionally slow service.Credit: DisneyIts closure comes during a period of transformation for Disney Village, which has removed several elements of its more garish, ’90s-esque identity in the years since COVID-19.That includes Planet Hollywood, which closed permanently in January 2023, and Café Mickey, which was replaced by the more contemporary Brasserie Rosalie later that year. King Ludwig’s Castle was also transformed into The Royal Pub, while several of Disney Village’s original storefronts have received more modern makeovers.More recently, Disney Style, Disney Glamour, and Deco by Disney have joined the lineup, while the Sports Bar & Lounge reopened with a new design in 2025. The original Disney Store closed in January 2026 and is being transformed into Disney Wonders as the overhaul continues.There is still plenty more to come.
