A very hungry plant is about to take over Valletta as Little Shop of Horrors comes to Teatru Manoel this October.Masquerade Malta, in collaboration with Teatru Manoel, will bring the cult classic musical to the stage from 23rd October to 1st November 2026, promising a deliciously dark mix of romance, comedy, horror and unforgettable songs.Based on the film by Roger Corman, with a screenplay by Charles Griffith, Little Shop of Horrors features a book and lyrics by Howard Ashman and music by Alan Menken, the composer behind Disney classics including The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast.The story follows Seymour Krelborn, a shy and down-on-his-luck florist who discovers a strange and exotic plant. There’s just one problem: the plant has a taste for human blood.As Audrey II’s appetite grows, so does Seymour’s fame and fortune, setting off a chaotic chain of events filled with romance, laughs, horror and plenty of trouble.Fans can expect a soundtrack packed with memorable numbers including Skid Row (Downtown), Suddenly Seymour and, of course, Feed Me (Git It).The Maltese production will be led by Artistic Director Anthony Bezzina, with Kris Spiteri as Musical Director, Valerie Burke handling choreography, Simona Mamo on costume design and Sergio Costa on sound design.The cast features Michela Agius as Audrey, Luigi Buhagiar as Seymour, Francesco Nicodeme as Orin, Rachel Fabri as Crystal, Natassja Chapman as Chiffon, Abigail Zarb as Ronette, Max Dingli as Mushnik and Karl Bartolo as Audrey II.Whether you’re already a fan of the cult classic or discovering Little Shop of Horrors for the first time, this is one theatrical treat you won’t want to miss.Just remember: love, laughter, horror… and whatever you do, don’t feed the plant.Tag someone you are going with•
