Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” is currently on a historic run. It has spent 43 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, with 19 of those weeks spent at No. 1. It has now tied for the longest run ever atop the chart among non-holiday songs. “Choosin’ Texas” ties with “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” by Shaboozey, and “Old Town Road by Lil Nas X featuring Billy Ray Cyrus at 19 weeks in the No. 1 position. Each holiday season, Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas” dominates the Hot 100. The holiday classic has spent a total of 22 weeks at No. 1.In a recent interview on Sundae Conversation with Caleb Pressley, Doja Cat was discussing music and pop culture. In the interview, she was asked if she likes Ella Langley. To this, Doja Cat shockingly answered: “I don’t know what that is”. The most shocking factor is that Langley is currently at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, breaking records. Doja Cat has achieved two No. 1 hits in her career. Her first, “Say So”, peaked at No. 1 in May 2020. In September 2023, her track “Paint The Whole Town Red” became her first completely solo No. 1 single.Langley’s third studio album, Dandelion, is currently at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. It debuted at No. 1 on the chart in April 2026 upon release. “Choosin’ Texas” kept the album’s second single, “Be Her”, from hitting No. 1. It did, however, peak at No. 1 on the Country Airplay chart.
