The Semi-Automatic Advanced Sniper Rifle has been in development since 2010 and is built around a short-stroke gas piston system paired with an extremely precise barrel manufacturing process, producing a platform that sits in a performance bracket closer to heavy-category rifles while remaining mobile enough for field use. SWORD claims reliable target engagement at and beyond a mile depending on ammunition selection, and the caliber lineup backs that up: the MK18 is offered in .300 Norma Magnum, .338 Norma Magnum, .338 Lapua Magnum, and .375 Swiss P. Two barrel configurations are available. The 24-inch build comes in at 12 pounds and runs 45.75 inches with the stock retracted and 50 inches extended. The operating system eliminates gas rings on the bolt by virtue of the piston design, with the bolt riding on machined driving bands to reduce shift and rock during unlocking.
