CM Bhupendrabhai Patel ko Rajyapaal banaya jaayega. (Big breaking news, Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi will be made Chief Minister of Gujarat. CM Bhupendra Patel will be made Governor.)”The Crime Branch statement said, “This false message was put in a post on social media site X, made viral, causing damage to the constitutional post of the Chief Minister, as well as to the reputation of Bhupendra Patel and Harsh Sanghavi.”The X handle “@PAWANTYAGI_07” is purportedly owned by an individual who describes himself as “Executive Editor, Pyara Hindustan news Network, The News News channel, Swayamsevak”.The operator of the handle has been booked under Sections 336(4) (forgery committed with the intention to harm the reputation of any party), 353(1) (making, publishing, or circulating false statements, rumors, or reports, including via electronic means) and 62(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (BNS), as well as Section 66(d) of the Information Technology Act, 2000.Bhupendra Patel has been serving as Chief Minister of Gujarat since September 2021. Sanghavi was elevated as his Deputy in October 2025. He holds a number of important portfolios including Home, Police Housing, Jail, Border Security, Prohibition and Excise, Transport, and Law and Justice.Sanghavi, who is 41 years old, was just 27 when he first entered the Legislative Assembly. He is seen as the youth face of the BJP in Gujarat, and is believed to have the trust of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and the former president of the Gujarat BJP C R Paatil.Story continues below this adAccording to Sanghavi’s colleagues in the BJP, the MLA from Majura in Surat is “the man to watch out for in the Patel ministry”. A government insider had told The Indian Express last year: “He (Sanghavi) is seen as someone with leadership qualities and is active on social media. Besides, the government needed a face to appeal to the youth, which is where he fits in.”
