ShareMichele Di Gregorio will challenge Djordje Petrovic for the number one spot at Bournemouth after joining the Cherries on loan.Bournemouth have announced the signing of goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio on a season-long loan deal.The 29-year-old joins the Cherries after Guglielmo Vicario's arrival at Juve earlier this summer, with the latter starting and keeping a clean sheet in their Serie A opener against Frosinone.Di Gregorio has made 84 appearances across the last two seasons for Juve, who missed out on Champions League qualification last term.He has kept 35 clean sheets for the Bianconeri in all competitions, the joint-fourth most among Europe's top five leagues across the two previous seasons.In Serie A, only Mile Svilar (35) and Yann Sommer (28) have kept more clean sheets than Di Gregorio (27) since the start of the 2024-25 season.Di Gregorio is the only goalkeeper in the competition to keep 20+ clean sheets over the past two campaigns without making an error leading to a shot.He will now challenge Djordje Petrovic for a starting spot in Marco Rose's Bournemouth squad, with the Cherries also taking part in the Europa League this season."I’m very happy to be here," Di Gregorio told the Bournemouth website."This is a very important moment for me and that's why I think the decision to come here to Bournemouth was the right one.“I felt the club's desire to have me here and I felt the ambition that this club has to continue to grow and do great things."The Premier League is the most beautiful league in the world.
