1 min readNew DelhiAug 22, 2026 06:08 AM ISTPresident Droupadi Murmu will confer the National Teachers’ Awards on 48 school teachersPresident Droupadi Murmu will confer the National Teachers’ Awards on 48 school teachers on September 5, on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, the Ministry of Education said on Friday.According to the Ministry, the awardees were selected through a three-stage selection process carried out at district, state and national levels by the Department of School Education & Literacy — to identify teachers who made exemplary contributions to school education and student development.The 48 awardees represent 27 states, seven UTs and six organisations under the Central government. Of the total awardees, 26 are men and 22 are women.
