I was going to say, I think seeking out an older dog for adoption to provide emotional support for an autistic kiddo is a wonderful idea! Then I saw she was seeking out a husky… to stop elopement. She is either not a good vet tech or knows nothing about autism. Problem here isn’t that she’s seeking out a dog to train as a Service Animal; it’s that she clearly knows nothing about service dogs and wants to trust her child’s safety in an animal who isn’t going to be capable of handling the tasks that would be required of it. If she was just asking about adopting an older shelter dog for emotional support purposes, I feel that would have been much better received.
