I can’t imagine how that wouldn’t be devastating for the poor dog. My puppy can’t stop whimpering when she sees me if I am not the one that picks her up from daycare. Don’t forget come summer and after graduation I am sure they expect to take the poor dog with them so the dog can then grieve their new home too.
