Marsa Mayor Luke Farrugia has once again raised concerns about social problems affecting the locality, this time sharing an image of a man on a bench in Triq Żerafa.The post contrasted scenes commonly associated with public benches elsewhere in Malta with what Farrugia says residents are encountering in Marsa.“In other localities, you’ll generally find a couple of elderly people sitting on benches having a chat, or a mother with her children waiting for the right time to head to the beach,” Farrugia wrote.“But in Marsa, it’s difficult to see a scene like that.”Addressing the man pictured, Farrugia stressed that he was neither sleeping nor suffering from a sudden medical episode, but described him as someone facing an ongoing problem.“This person has a problem, and unfortunately, it has now become our problem too,” he wrote.The mayor then raised a more difficult question surrounding what can be done when support is available but is reportedly refused.“Is help available? Yes. Does he want it?
