The UK government estimates that plug-in panels could save households up to £70-£110 a year on their energy bills.For renters and flat owners with little roof space, they represent a long-awaited new alternative to pricey rooftop installations. Instead, as their name suggests, you can theoretically plug them directly into your mains electricity, and place them outdoors in places like balcony railings, fences, garden sheds or patios.However, despite their promised savings, early plug-in solar kits aren't exactly cheap.
