BITCOIN Will it follow the historical Midterm Elections pattern?BitcoinCRYPTO:BTCUSDTradingShotYesterday we saw how the S&P500 has historically performed 3 months before the Mid-term elections, so we applied the same notion on Bitcoin (BTCUSD) to see how it traded within the same time range. Given BTC's much shorter life-span, it has 'only' been through 4 mid-term election periods. The November 02 2010 period can be technically ignored as it was during its Genesis years, which saw a very immature market getting massive early price surges on thin liquidity and capital. Extremely different environment from today. But to keep it technical, Bitcoin closed above its 1W MA50 (blue trend-line) all 3 months that preceded the Nov 2010 mid-terms. What's interesting though is that the last 3 Mid-terms (Nov 04 2014, Nov 06 2018, Nov 08 2022) saw strong declines. 2014 and 2018 hit their 1W MA200 (orange trend-line) and eventually bottomed, while pre-November 2022 traded entirely below the 1W MA200 and bottomed on the 1W MA350 (red trend-line) exactly on the elections month. Today (pre-Nov 2026), the situation is different. Bitcoin is having a massive August surge that hit its 1W MA50 yesterday and so far has been rejected. Based on the pattern of the previous 3 pre-Midterm periods, November should find it around or below its 1W MA200. A 2022 repeat would even see it hit the 1W MA350. But time is running out fast based on the 4-year Cycle Model.
