Three Arrested In Marsa After Police Find 162 Suspected Synthetic Drug Sachets

Three people have been arrested after police discovered a total of 162 sachets containing a substance suspected to be synthetic drugs during targeted patrols in Marsa.The arrests took place yesterday as officers carried out rounds in areas known for drug use and trafficking.Police said they first noticed a suspicious 25-year-old woman in Triq Diċembru 13. While officers were speaking to her, she allegedly attempted to conceal something beneath a bandage around her leg.A search allegedly uncovered 21 sachets containing a substance suspected to be synthetic drugs, and the Marsa resident was arrested.Officers subsequently accompanied her to a residence in Triq il-Ġerrejja to conduct a search. Upon arriving, police noticed other people inside and arrested another two individuals: a 32-year-old woman from Bormla and a 34-year-old Nigerian man residing in Qrendi.A search of the man’s bag allegedly uncovered another 141 sachets of suspected synthetic drugs, together with two mobile phones.Police then searched his Qrendi residence, where another four mobile phones and three pills suspected to be ecstasy were discovered.All three were taken to Police Headquarters in Floriana as investigations continue.•
