Harish Rao flays govt. for listing ryots’ lands at Ramdaspally under 22A - The HinduPublished - August 27, 2026 07:24 pm IST - HYDERABADHYDERABADDeputy Floor leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in the Assembly T. Harish Rao has criticised the Congress government for including 300 acres of patta lands of farmers in Ramdaspally of Ibrahimpatnam mandal in the prohibited list under Section 22A of the Registration Act.He alleged that the Revanth Reddy government did it wilfully with an intention to collect commission from landholders by preventing any transaction of the lands, even if the farmers planned to sell them for family needs. Not only the patta lands of farmers but the lands of three housing layouts and lands allocated to bonded labourers were also included in the prohibited lands list.In a statement, Mr. Rao said on Thursday that the landholding farmers were being denied Rythu Bandhu, bank (crop) loans and even supply of urea following the inclusion of lands in the prohibited list. The farmers had even represented their problem to Minister for Revenue Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, but in vain.He pointed out that the RDO of Ibrahimpatnam had clearly mentioned in his note report on the lands that they belonged to farmers but they were yet to be de-listed from 22A. He sought to know whether inclusion of even patta lands in 22A was for making 30% commission to regularise them. When the District Collector of Rangareddy was claiming no lands were included under 22A afresh, other than those which were under it in the past, how the lands of Ramdaspally made their way into 22A, he questioned.Published - August 27, 2026 07:24 pm ISTSign in to unlock member-only benefits!Access 10 free stories every monthSave stories to read laterAccess to comment on every storySign-up/manage your newsletter subscriptions with a single clickGet notified by email for early access to discounts & offers on our products${ ind + 1 } ${ device }Last active - ${ la }
