Welcome to HackerNoon’s Writing Prompts! Would you like to take a stab at answering some of these questions? The link for the template is HERE.1. What is your company in 2–5 words?AI-powered personal financial planning.2. Why is now the time for your company to exist?AI has finally made truly personalized financial guidance accessible at scale. Younger generations are managing increasingly complex financial lives - multiple bank accounts, pensions, investments, mortgages, and side incomes - but still rely on fragmented apps or spreadsheets. Traditional financial advice is expensive, and most fintechs solve only one piece of the puzzle. Moola brings planning, banking, and investing together in one intelligent platform.3. What do you love about your team, and why are you the ones to solve this problem? We’ve built a team that understands finance from every angle. Between us we’ve advised major banks at McKinsey, scaled venture-backed startups, built digital banking products, and worked in law, engineering, and AI. More importantly, we’re obsessed with making finance understandable. Most financial products are designed around institutions—we’re designing around how people actually make decisions.4. If you weren’t building your startup, what would you be doing?Freediving, cycling, cross-country skiing.5. At the moment, how do you measure success? What are your metrics? We’re focused on engagement - through account registrations, MAUs and Moola Pro subscriptions.6. In a few sentences, what do you offer to whom?Moola helps ambitious professionals take control of their financial future. We combine long-term financial planning, AI-powered banking recommendations, and goal-based investing in one platform, giving people a complete picture of where they are today and the steps they can take to build wealth over decades—not just manage next month’s budget.7. What’s most exciting about your traction to date? The most exciting part is what our users are telling us. People consistently say that visualising their financial future is something they’ve never experienced before. Several beta users have rated the product 10/10 and described it as helping them understand their finances in a completely new way. That’s exactly the behavioural change we hoped to create.8. Where do you think your growth will be next year? The next year is about moving from financial planning to execution. We’ll expand from a financial planning platform into a complete financial operating system by launching embedded banking products, investment accounts, and AI-powered financial recommendations. That creates a much stronger product while also unlocking scalable revenue through financial product distribution.9. Tell us about your first paying customer and revenue expectations over the next year.We had someone book a paid coaching session with us in April - that was our first paying customer. While we are focused more on Moola Pro subscriptions now, we are using it as an ROI metric.10. What’s your biggest threat? Our biggest threat is people losing trust in our product. Money is deeply personal, and people won’t hand over their financial lives to a platform unless it’s transparent, accurate, and genuinely acts in their best interests. That’s why we’ve built Moola around explainable recommendations and a planning-first approach rather than simply trying to sell financial products. In personal finance, trust compounds just like investments do.This startup founder interview template is based on HackerNoon Founder & CEO David Smooke’s ten questions for startup founders.Would you like to take a stab at answering some of these questions?
