The islands recorded 74 different road incidents in the last work week, Transport Malta confirmed last night. “A busy week on our roads for Enforcement officers,” the authority wrote, sharing just how many incidents its officers, alongside those from the Malta Police Force, Civil Protection and Mater Dei Hospital, needed to respond to across Malta between 17th and 21st August. And if that feels like a lot, just consider the fact that it’s an average of just under 15 incidents per day. Of those 74 incidents, 11 collisions actually involved injuries, which comes up to an average of just over two per day. Transport Malta also shared two interesting infographics, showing where around Malta the incidents happened this week (and, as might be expected, the heart of the island carried the brunt of them) along with the median response time and number of incidents per day. In fact, a particularly quiet Friday meant other days went over the average 15 incidents per day, with Thursday being the most eventful one at over 20 incidents being reported. Arrive safely.”Do these figures surprise you? Share this post to help raise awareness on the amount of work required from Malta’s officers•
