Priscilla Chan's journey is rooted in her family's escape from war-torn Vietnam in search of safety and a better life. She became the first person in her family to attend college, graduating from Harvard before pursuing a career in medicine. After working as a paediatrician, she and her husband, Mark Zuckerberg, founded the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. The organisation has since committed substantial funding to scientific research and healthcare, supporting efforts to better understand human biology and develop new ways to prevent, treat and manage diseases.
