A Kerala woman fell ill after eating alfaham at a biryani cafe and spent a week in hospital after doctors diagnosed a Salmonella infection. The consumer commission found her complaint substantiated and ordered the cafe proprietor and manager to jointly pay Rs 96,500, covering hospital expenses, compensation and litigation costs.
