Former Police Commissioner Lawrence Cutajar has responded sarcastically after his presence at the hotel housing jurors in Yorgen Fenech’s trial was raised in court.Cutajar had previously been spotted swimming at the same hotel where the jurors are being accommodated during the ongoing trial. However, it was reported that he had no contact with the jurors and that they were not at the hotel while he was at the pool. The matter resurfaced in court on Monday, when concerns were raised over a photograph showing Cutajar swimming at the hotel.Judge Edwina Grima questioned how the former Police Commissioner knew which hotel to go swimming at, while the court was assured that the jurors’ security was being safeguarded. The matter was subsequently closed.Cutajar later took to Facebook with a sarcastic response to the controversy.“Outside the hotel there was a sign: ‘Jurors are here. Nobody can use the pool’. I’m sorry I didn’t read it,” he wrote, ending the post with a smiley face.Cutajar has himself testified during Fenech’s ongoing trial and was subjected to extensive cross-examination by the defence earlier in the proceedings. What do you make of Cutajar’s response?•
