UCC Brings Ugandan Cinema to Audiences Across the Country Ahead of UFF 2026 Finale

By Mulengera ReportersThe Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) is bringing Ugandan cinema closer to audiences across the country as the Uganda Film Festival (UFF) 2026 enters its final days, with a growing number of filmgoers turning up to experience local stories on the big screen.The enthusiasm was evident at NuMax Cinema in Entebbe during the screening of ADUI, where audiences came out in impressive numbers to support and experience the powerful Ugandan production. The strong turnout demonstrated the growing appetite for locally produced films and the ability of Ugandan cinema to draw audiences when given the right platform.Special appreciation goes to MultiChoice Uganda for supporting the screening by paying for tickets, enabling more people in Entebbe to experience ADUI and further promoting access to Ugandan films.The festival continues today, 26th August, with several films screening at different venues. At Century Cinemax Acacia Mall, audiences can watch Small Gods and Last Taxi to Kawempe, both screening from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at UGX 15,000.At NuMax Cinema Entebbe, Ekitibwa Ky’Olubugo takes the screen from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, while Last Hope screens at EMT Cinema, opposite Makerere Main Gate, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at UGX 10,000.Meanwhile, Slum Bomber screens at Century Cinemax Metroplex Mall, Nalya, and Ex-Convict at Century Cinemax Arena Mall, both from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at UGX 15,000.Organised by UCC, the Uganda Film Festival runs from 21st to 28th August, offering audiences an opportunity to experience captivating Ugandan films, participate in workshops and industry forums, connect with filmmakers and celebrate local creative talent.The festival will culminate in the UFF 2026 Awards Gala on 28th August, where outstanding talent, creativity and achievements in Uganda’s film industry will be recognised.Through UFF 2026, UCC continues to create platforms that connect Ugandan filmmakers with audiences while promoting local stories, talent and the growth of the country’s creative industry.
