Epic Universe has only been open for a little more than a year, but Universal Orlando Resort is already finding new ways to expand what guests can experience inside its newest theme park.This time, Universal isn’t adding another ride or building an entirely new land. Instead, two of Epic Universe’s existing worlds are about to receive something they didn’t have during the park’s first holiday season.Universal has confirmed that both SUPER NINTENDO WORLD and How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk will expand their seasonal offerings for the 2026 holidays. Its first holiday season followed only months later, meaning Universal had little time between the park’s grand opening and its first Christmas celebration.Now, the park is entering year two with a much bigger holiday footprint.Universal Orlando’s 2026 holiday celebration will officially begin November 14 and continue through January 3, 2027. The festivities won’t be limited to Epic Universe, either. Seasonal experiences will stretch across Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, CityWalk, Universal’s hotels, and Universal’s newest theme park.At Epic Universe, however, the biggest change comes from the expansion of Christmas into two additional worlds.Celestial Park already received a major holiday transformation during the park’s first year. Now, Universal is taking the next step.SUPER NINTENDO WORLD Is Getting Its First Christmas MakeoverSUPER NINTENDO WORLD is already one of the most visually elaborate places inside Epic Universe.Guests step through its portal and suddenly find themselves surrounded by familiar characters, Question Blocks, coins, colorful scenery, moving elements, and locations pulled from the world of Mario.Beginning this November, Christmas will become part of that environment.Universal has officially confirmed that SUPER NINTENDO WORLD will receive special holiday décor for the first time. The company hasn’t revealed exactly what guests will find throughout the land, only confirming that the area will be decorated for the season.That leaves plenty of room for surprises.It’s also an interesting expansion because Universal has a very distinctive environment to work with. More importantly, the celebration will draw inspiration from Snoggletog.Within the How to Train Your Dragon franchise, Snoggletog is the winter holiday celebrated by the Vikings of Berk.That gives Universal a built-in theme to work with.Rather than simply turning Isle of Berk into a generic Christmas destination, Universal can create decorations that make sense within the story and environment guests already experience there.Isle of Berk is filled with Viking architecture, dragons, oversized structures, and details designed to make visitors feel as though they’ve entered the village. A Snoggletog-inspired transformation could build naturally on that atmosphere.There are limits to what Universal has confirmed so far.The company has not announced special Snoggletog entertainment, seasonal character costumes, exclusive food, or other additional offerings. At this point, holiday décor throughout the land is the confirmed addition, with more information expected later.Still, this represents a significant change from Epic Universe’s first holiday season.Celestial Park’s Holiday Celebration Is ReturningWhile SUPER NINTENDO WORLD and Isle of Berk are receiving their first holiday transformations, Universal isn’t abandoning what worked during Epic Universe’s inaugural Christmas season.Celestial Park’s cosmic holiday celebration will return.During the 2025 season, Universal transformed the park’s central world into a cosmic winter setting, using decorations designed specifically around Celestial Park’s architecture rather than relying entirely on traditional Christmas theming.Universal has confirmed that look will return for 2026.Guests can expect twinkling trees along with holiday-themed fountain displays at the Cosmos Fountain. Those elements should once again make nighttime particularly important for anyone visiting Epic Universe during the holidays.Celestial Park already changes dramatically after sunset as its fountains, lighting, and architecture come alive. Adding Christmas lighting and seasonal fountain presentations gives guests another reason to experience the area both during the day and after dark.But unlike last year, Celestial Park won’t have to carry nearly as much of Epic Universe’s Christmas atmosphere by itself.Credit: UniversalChristmas Is Getting Bigger Across Epic UniverseUniversal’s decision to expand the holidays into SUPER NINTENDO WORLD and Isle of Berk comes as Epic Universe becomes a larger part of the resort’s overall seasonal celebration.Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will once again stretch across Universal Orlando, including the Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe. Elsewhere, Grinchmas returns to Seuss Landing at Islands of Adventure, while Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s returns to Universal Studios Florida.That means guests visiting Epic Universe this Christmas will have seasonal experiences spread across much more of the park than they did during its first year.It’s also an early example of how Universal can continue expanding Epic Universe without immediately needing another massive attraction.Theme parks aren’t finished products when they open. Seasonal entertainment, decorations, new food, character experiences, overlays, and special events can continue changing how guests experience the same lands year after year.Epic Universe is already starting to demonstrate that.Its first Christmas season introduced guests to what the park could look like during the holidays.
