KTR calls for State-wide protests from September 2 on ‘govt. failures’ - The HinduPublished - August 23, 2026 09:56 pm ISTHyderabadThe Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) will launch a major campaign State-wide to expose the “Congress government’s betrayal of people as it completes 1,000 days in office”.The party will organise a series of innovative programmes across Telangana for a week from September 2, highlighting the alleged failure of the Congress government to fulfil its promises.BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao directed senior party leaders, elected representatives and the State committee, during a teleconference on Sunday, and called upon them to take the ‘failures’ to every section of people across the State.KTR said that the Congress came to power after making numerous promises to people, including the 420 vows, 13 declarations and six guarantees, assuring them that these commitments would be implemented within 100 days. However, even after 1,000 days in office, it had failed to fully fulfil even a single promise, he alleged.The programmes from September 2 should not be confined merely to the promises made by Congress. These should also highlight the failures of the government after it assumed office and the problems currently being faced by different sections of society.Mr. Rama Rao said that the ‘failure’ of the Congress government to clear more than ₹12,000 crore in fee reimbursement dues, should be highlighted among students and their parents across colleges. He recalled that BRS had already exposed the alleged betrayal of the youth through the meeting held in Saroornagar and the Yuva Sangrama Sadassu.KTR also suggested that different programmes be conducted over the seven-day period, with party leaders meeting women, farmers, youth, students, Dalits, BCs, tribals and other sections in the constituencies.Published - August 23, 2026 09:56 pm ISTSign in to unlock member-only benefits!Access 10 free stories every monthSave stories to read laterAccess to comment on every storySign-up/manage your newsletter subscriptions with a single clickGet notified by email for early access to discounts & offers on our products${ ind + 1 } ${ device }Last active - ${ la }
