Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary is a key breeding site for the black-necked stork. Researchers confirmed four active nests, each producing two fledglings successfully. The sanctuary supported a peak seasonal population of twenty-one birds during the study. Nests were built on invasive gando baval trees at moderate heights. This study provides detailed breeding ecology information for the species.
