Ugh this kills me. I have a friend from childhood who has had a rough go of it. Lots of mystery health issues, has been on and off homeless for years. Currently they're living in a van. Recently they swung by my place on the way to one of their "camping" spots. They told me that they've given up on "waiting for services", and that they make more just asking for "mutual aid" on social media. I feel sick that I ever fell for it.
