(PTI Photo)A day after another poster threatening Kashmiri Pandits circulated online, the employees recruited under the Prime Minister’s Rehabilitation package for Kashmiri Pandits have written to J&K’s Chief Secretary seeking enhanced security and protection for these employees.In a letter to Chief Secretary Atul Dulloo on Monday, the All PM Package Employees Forum has sought a review of security at their workplaces, residences and transit routes.“A fresh threat poster, purportedly issued by a terrorist outfit calling itself the United Liberation Council (ULC) and dated 23 August 2026, has surfaced on social media. The poster reportedly contains threats directed towards migrant Kashmiri Pandit employees and mentions personal details such as names, addresses and vehicle numbers of certain individuals,” the letter reads.Security agencies have yet to verify the authenticity of the poster.The letter from the All PM Package Employees Forum goes on to say that “repeated circulation of such threat letters and posters, particularly those containing sensitive personal information”, is a matter of grave concern.Also Read | Cold-blooded killing of 23 Kashmiri Pandits is latest case to be reopened in J&K“The matter has reportedly been brought to the notice of the concerned police and security agencies for verification and necessary action,” the letter says.This comes after a letter threatening Kashmiri Pandit migrants surfaced Sunday, almost two weeks after a similar letter was posted online to warn those from the community working in the Kashmir Valley to “change their ways”.Story continues below this adThis is the first time in decades that threat letters have included personal details of the migrants, down to the house number and street name.The letter says these threats have created a “deep sense of fear and insecurity” among the Kashmiri Pandit employees and their families. The employees have called for an “immediate and thorough verification” of the fresh threat poster and identification of the people behind it.At the same time, the letter also calls for immediate protection of Kashmiri Pandit employees whose names have been mentioned in the threat posters. “Ensure that employees whose names, addresses or vehicle details have appeared in such threats receive immediate protection and necessary security guidance,” the letter says. “We sincerely hope that the Government will treat this matter with the utmost seriousness and take immediate steps to ensure the safety and confidence of all PM Package employees”.Bashaarat Masood is a Special Correspondent with The Indian Express.
