MIAMI—Saying the manosphere influencer vastly exaggerated aspects of his life in order to fabricate a social media persona, lawyers for Andrew Tate disclosed Thursday that he rented a brother to appear loved online. “Despite all the videos of Andrew supposedly sparring with his brother at the gym or smoking cigars with him in a supercar, the fact is our client is all alone and always has been,” Tate’s attorneys wrote in court filings, adding that the man facing rape and human trafficking charges in multiple countries was desperate to portray himself as someone who had a strong, affectionate sibling bond, when in fact there was no one in the world who would choose to be in his company. “His so-called ‘brother’ got a call whenever Andrew wanted to be seen interacting with someone who appeared to care about him.
