Shanmugam welcomed the State government’s announcement to construct a 400-bed multi-super speciality hospital in Perambur at an estimated cost of ₹300 crore. He said the establishment of the medical facility was a long-standing demand of the local residents.According to the statement, the federation had consistently pressed for the hospital by taking the demand to Ministers and government officials on various occasions. Mr. Shanmugam stated that the government’s decision is a significant development, attributing the outcome to the unified efforts of the public rather than any single individual or organisation.While expressing gratitude to the State government, the federation requested the swift implementation of the hospital project to ensure the provision of free, modern, and high-quality medical services for the people of North Chennai.
