In a bizarre viral video, Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill is confronted by a man in the woods. The video’s location is still unknown, as some context is missing. Meek Mill filmed the exchange, which is awkward and slightly confrontational. In the video, Meek appears to be hiking when he runs into a man who claims he is not supposed to be on the path.The man tells him to turn around, basically one of those “go back the way you came” moments that you see in movies. Meek explains, “I’m already deep in; where can I go back to?” The guy responds, “Just turn around; there’s no way you can go up there.” Meek doubts the man, claiming, “How do you figure that? I did that before.” The strange man reiterates, “Hey, you’re not supposed to be here.” Meek laughs it off, claiming, “But I came this way 30 minutes; I might as well come this way to go out.” Again, the man claims, “The way to the road is back that way,” but Meek has explained that he’s been walking for 30 minutes from that direction.Meek turns laughter into seriousness when he stands up for himself. “Just go ahead, man. I’m minding my own business; you should mind yours too.” The video ends with the strange man claiming, “Well, you’re breaking the law.” It’s unclear whether Meek was breaking the law or not. It appears he isn’t, as this man is on the same path. He’s walking away from the direction he advises Meek not to go.The location of the encounter is unknown, and it’s also unclear whether it was on private property or a public trail. Race may have played a role in the encounter as well. Meek Mill Leads quite a Different Life in recent yearsThough the video’s context is unclear, it is clear that Meek Mill is a different person now. He’s out on what seems like a nice, enjoyable hike when the encounter occurred.In 2005, he was arrested by police while in possession of a firearm. He was brutally beaten by police who claimed it was Meek who attempted to assault the officers. He was then put on probation. In 2008, he was arrested on drug and gun charges. He maintained his innocence, but served seven months. He was placed on a five-year parole agreement. But in 2017, a judge sentenced Meek Mill to 2 to 4 years in prison for another apparent probation violation. Ultimately, an appeal in 2019 overturned the sentence, and Mill became a criminal justice reform advocate.In June 2025, Meek Mill officially became an independent artist, alleging major labels blackballed him. Ahead of this, Meek parted ways with Atlantic Records in 2021. The following year, he split with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Management.In May 2026, the Philly rapper was brought out on stage during Jay-Z’s headlining set at the 2026 Roots Picnic to perform “Dreams To Nightmares”, one of the city’s anthems.
