Police have confirmed that his wife Rekha, her two brothers and her sister-in-law have been arrested.Gupta’s family has alleged that the couple’s initial dispute was minor.“My son was a simple man who didn’t even drink or have any other habits. He earned a package of Rs 60 lakhs and always kept his family first,” said his mother, Renu.According to police, Gupta and Rekha (31) a resident of Budh Vihar, had married a little over three years ago. Gupta worked as a software engineer with a multinational company in Noida, while Rekha is a homemaker.Police said a matrimonial dispute arose between the couple on Friday morning after which Rekha allegedly called her relatives, who lived nearby. and reached the house. Her relatives went to the house and allegedly severely assaulted Gupta, police said. He later succumbed to his injuries.An FIR for murder and common intention is being registered in connection with the incident and four people allegedly involved have been identified and arrested , police said.Story continues below this adGupta’s mother, Renu, who was at the couple’s house at the time of the alleged incident, said, “ They started fighting over giving medicines to one of their children. Following the argument, Rekha left and called her brothers, sister-in-law and other relatives. They live nearby and reached the house within five to seven minutes.”She alleged that once Rekha’s family members arrived, they initially got into an argument with Vinay inside the house, but the confrontation soon turned violent. She also alleged that the CCTV cameras installed inside the house were switched off during the incident.According to her account, the altercation subsequently spilled out of the house, onto the road outside. She said she raised alarm and called for help as the assault continued. She said that Vinay was later taken to hospital with the help of neighbours, where he succumbed to his injuries.Police said they are examining CCTV footage, statements of eyewitnesses and other evidence to establish the sequence of events and the role of each of the accused.
