I am not sure whether he means she shouldn't have been sexually intimate in the past, or he never wants sexual intimacy of any sort, or just doesnt know what intimacy the term means., or perhaps he is trying to say he is ace but doesn't know the right terms or is not fully aware that that is what he is.
