What are some nursing unit/department stereotypes that you have experienced?

Please be controversial and unhinged. These are not to be taken seriously or as fact. This is purely for entertainment. I’m from the ED and would love to hear stuff about us as well! ED/ER: Can get away with being more casual and even cuss. Patient satisfaction score is not a priority at all. Disastrous if my hospital had us float to the floors. Med/surg: worried about things that are not a priority in my dept (ED). Always asking about a 4 eyes skin check but I’m busy juggling between septic work ups or titrating drips. ICU: very detail oriented. ICU RN called me to fix my charting after pt was transported an hour ago. They wanted me to fix the IV placement because I accidentally put 20g LAC instead of 20g RAC. submitted by /u/Wholesome_Wolverine [link] [comments]
