Picatinny rails are everywhere on guns, and almost nowhere else. Atlas Defense Co wants to change that with the CRC Compact Rail Carrier, a small, clip-equipped 3-slot rail that turns Picatinny into everyday carry. The idea is to take the versatility of the standard accessory rail and put it where people actually carry their gear. The CRC is built around a compact 3-slot Picatinny interface. A compatible light or another rail-mounted accessory can be carried on a pocket, a hat, a piece of gear or wherever else a clip will hold. A light can ride in a pocket for quick access, or clip to the brim of a hat for hands-free illumination, and accessories can be carried in ways their original mounting systems were never designed for. The construction is more serious than the price suggests. The body is 3D printed MJF Nylon 11, and the pocket clip is stainless steel. The clip is secured with black-oxide steel hardware threaded into captured steel nuts, a design that keeps the screws from simply pulling through the polymer body. Threadlocker is applied during assembly to help the hardware stay put through repeated use. The body is designed and manufactured in the USA, while the stainless steel clip is sourced internationally. Every CRC is assembled, threadlocked and inspected by Atlas Defense Co. in the USA, shipping from Pennsylvania. The CRC costs $19.99, and it shows as sold out for now - unsurprisingly! I mean, who would like to have a piece of Picatinny in their pocket?
