TRT: A Local Midpoint Reclaim Trio-Tech InternationalBATS:TRTSmalldikenergyA Fibonacci midpoint and a moving average answer different questions. Trio-Tech's daily chart provides a concrete example: the local downswing from the September 29 high of 6.860 to the October 15 low of 4.830 spans 2.030. Half that distance is 1.015, placing the local midpoint at 5.845. The 55 EMA in the October 23 observation was 7.914, well above that midpoint and even above the selected swing high. A hypothetical midpoint recovery would therefore not, by itself, reclaim the longer average. The anchors identify a local question. September 29 marks the observed rebound high after the earlier large September price discontinuity; October 15 is the subsequent observed local low. The chart does not establish the business cause of that earlier discontinuity, so the lesson does not attribute it to a particular announcement or corporate action. This local pair measures repair of the later downswing, rather than claiming to reconstruct the whole preceding decline. At about 1:14 p.m. Chicago on October 23, the forming daily candle showed open 5.120, high 5.320, low 5.010 and last 5.120. Its body was approximately flat while the daily change remained negative because the previous close differed from today's open. RSI 14 read 29.22 and the 55 EMA was falling. Low momentum is context; it cannot prove that sellers are finished or that the next green candle establishes a durable reversal. Measured upward from 4.830, the 23.6%,38.2%,50%,61.8% and 78.6% retracements are 5.309,5.605,5.845,6.085 and 6.426 after rounding. The high remains 6.860. The 127.2% and 161.8% extensions are 7.412 and 8.115. These are distances on a selected price range, not probabilities or guaranteed destinations. Fifty percent is a conventional midpoint on the tool, not itself a Fibonacci ratio. A constructive local sequence would close above 5.309 and then retain a separate return. Next checkpoints are 5.605,5.845 and 6.085. Losing a reclaimed 5.309 defeats that immediate retention condition; a sustained loss of 4.830 invalidates the broader recovery from the selected low. Reaching 5.845 would answer the half-repair question while leaving the distinct moving-average test unresolved. Recheck the average at that later time because its value evolves. The weaker route requires a close below 4.830 and a rejected return toward it before considering the 4.278 negative-extension checkpoint. A held 4.830 reclaim defeats the local breakdown. A sustained move above 6.860 invalidates the selected broader downswing. Neither path is confirmed merely because a wick touches a line. If the actual instrument has no clear, affordable invalidation, the map does not require a trade. Macro and company fundamentals can change the demand and earnings picture, but this dated price lesson does not infer a new business catalyst, cash-flow change or valuation from a technical rebound. Subsequent disclosures need their own evidence. The educational distinction is the scale of the claim: repairing half a local swing is narrower than reclaiming a falling 55 EMA. Discussion: if price recovered the 5.845 midpoint while the 55 EMA remained overhead, what separate evidence would you require before calling the longer trend repaired?
