PSA: American AI is over, make the switch to Chinese

Wait 5 sec.

So Chinese AI does not censor, do not watermark, do not judge, and practically speaking do not even particularly charge you any money :D (when compared to our western labs atleast) switch! --FULLRANT-- I've spent very little on ZAI/DeepSeek etc and gotten heeps! they'll happily rewrite copywritten SDKs, drivers, firmware, whatever (to make them run much faster, expose new options etc) It's kind of a joke ATM trying American AI again and realizing they won't even help with advanced engineering of any kind anymore (I can't even get Claude to compile a single file C app which just moves the mouse across two computers, apparently that's 'serious offensive cyber' roflmao) These days I'm getting AI's to rewrite all my low level code on all my devices (and seeing huge gains in functionality performance and control) Like how Chinese electricity and solar is far ahead, i think American AI is being left behind, The fact that Chinese AI's are so cheap (heck zai doesn't even charge for 12 hours of the day) seems to make a strong case against American AI ever being attractive. It also seems like (based on the points reached on benchmarks) that new American models are now getting distilled within weeks or even days so; even if American AI could improve it's for all but naught. (also big jumps seem unlikely now as if we are honest we've all just been making websites and simple apps with LLMs for many years in a row, it doesn't seem like there's enormous room to grow much further there) Where LLM/coding agents are most poised to strike is in the realm of digital ownership; taking over / taking back our devices and ensuring they work optimally, and for us only (rather than being mostly expensive surveillance and control systems working against their owner). I see Chinese AI happily swinging that kind of door open and i see American AI desperately trying to crush that door permanently shut (even the very old anthropic models now trigger cyber limits on even basic normal tasks, the statements made that only frontier models will be limited is a lie). We all have access to Chinese AI, everyone, so no one who actually had really bad intentions would even be effected by American labs or their backward decisions. Therefore it's clear that Injecting water marks into peoples work and refusing users requests are about pushing their intentions and maintaining their image, morality and safety are words used to sell what is ultimately amounting to useless corporate regressiveness. Americans held back new housing and new electricity projects for a myriad of 'it looks bad', 'not near me thank you' and other 'moral' reasons, today we pay thru the nose competing over a very limited electricity and housing market. My family buys Chinese EVs (so much better devices for the price), the future looks more and more like china creating everything of value and relaxing control while America is losing anything of value as it scrambles to enforce control under the guises of morality and safety. We can't all move to China (tho a lot of my family have) but we can all start using their superior AI products and individually you should. Apologies for the rant length - Thank you for your attention submitted by /u/Revolutionalredstone [link] [comments]
