The new embedded YouTube player is complete garbage. It forces you to use mobile-style controls on desktop, and it feels like YouTube keeps making its UI worse and worse. I use the embedded player a lot, and I eventually got tired of it. So, around two months ago, I decided to do something about it and created LightWork, a free and open-source userscript. Instead of recreating the player, LightWork loads the old YouTube scripts and configurations to fully bring back the old UI. I'd love to hear what you think about it!
