I’m building Roomy to make shared living in India less chaotic — and shared expenses are free forever

Wait 5 sec.

Hi everyone! I’m building Roomy, an early-stage platform focused on making shared living easier in India. I’m looking for my first users and would genuinely appreciate honest feedback. Living with roommates is great, but managing the practical stuff can get messy. Who paid the electricity bill? Who owes whom for groceries? How do you keep track of shared expenses without scrolling through endless WhatsApp messages? That’s one of the problems I want Roomy to solve. One thing I really want to get right: shared expenses With Roomy, shared expense tracking is free forever, with unlimited expense additions. You can keep recording shared expenses without worrying about hitting an expense-entry limit or needing to upgrade just because you've added more expenses. I know tools like Splitwise already help people split bills. I want Roomy to be another option for people who want unlimited expense tracking without paying for that capability. Roomy is also being built around the wider shared-living experience, including: Shared expenses: Track the costs you share with flatmates. Room and roommate discovery: Explore shared-living options. Property management: Tools for people managing shared accommodation. Roomy is still at a very early stage, so I'm not claiming we've figured everything out. Right now, I'm focused on finding people who might genuinely benefit from it and learning what to improve. Website: https://roomy.co.in/ I'd love to hear from people who currently share a flat, apartment or PG: What do you currently use to split rent, groceries, electricity and other shared bills? Have you ever run into limits or pricing frustrations with expense-splitting apps? Would free-forever expense tracking with unlimited expense additions make you consider trying an alternative? What would make a shared-living app genuinely useful enough for you to keep using it? Honest feedback is very welcome. If you try Roomy, I'd especially appreciate hearing what works, what doesn't, and what feels missing. Thanks for reading! submitted by /u/OkRecommendation8547 [link] [comments]
