I'm a few weeks into an endoscopy clinic position after four years on a busy Med Surg/Telemetry floor. The work itself is great but my brain hasn't caught up to the change in pace. I still find myself eating lunch standing up, panicking whenever I hear a chime or beep that sounds even vaguely like a telemetry alarm and feeling guilty if I sit down at a desk for more than ten minutes. Yesterday my manager told me to take a break and I reflexively apologized. For anyone who made the jump out of inpatient bedside, what habits or brain wiring took you the longest to break? submitted by /u/sunrise0011 [link] [comments]
