AI 3D Mesh Generation vs Clean Topology: How close are we actually to printable AI models?

Wait 5 sec.

Every week there's a new "Text-to-3D" tool promising to disrupt 3D design. However, every AI mesh I've inspected so far has non-manifold geometry, inverted normals, and zero consideration for overhangs or wall thickness. Do you think AI will ever truly master parametric/printable CAD, or will human topology optimization and print-testing remain the gold standard for printable assets on marketplaces like DaBox and printables? submitted by /u/dabox_3d to u/dabox_3d [link] [comments]
