Tottenham Hotspur finally got the monkey off their back by registering their first Premier League win of the season in their seventh attempt, inspired by a returning champion. The media have been quick to pile the pressure on Roberto De Zerbi after Spurs’ poor start to the season, given the transfer war chest the Italian was given to rebuild the squad in the summer.Despite the wholesale changes to the squad, it has not been easy for the 46-year-old to get the players out of the losing habit, which they have developed over the last couple of years. However, there are now very clear signs that things are moving in the right direction and Tottenham’s attack suddenly looks much more formidable after the return of some key men.Credit: @thatfootballphotog / InstagramJames Maddison makes Team of the Week on his return to Tottenham’s startling elevenJames Maddison marked his return to Tottenham’s starting eleven after 18 months with an outstanding strike in the 14th minute and an excellent all-round performance. The 29-year-old was comfortably the most creative player on the pitch on Monday, demonstrating just what Tottenham have missed for the last year and a half. The attacking midfielder found a place in Troy Deeney’s Team of the Week for BBC Sport, with the former Watford man signing the Spurs man’s praises.Deeney wrote: “Welcome back, James Maddison.
