I (27F) have been seeing this guy (27M) for about a month, and I really like him. He’s told me he really likes me, too. When we’re together in person, I have no doubts about how he feels about me, but when we text, I can never quite figure it out. I know texting doesn’t convey tone well and that it’s not necessarily a good idea to base how someone feels on their texting habits, but I can’t help overthinking it sometimes. I was in one long-term relationship, and this is my first time dating since my breakup. He’s also told me he’s never been in a relationship before, so I’m still trying to figure things out. I think I’d like to start talking on the phone occasionally, but I don’t know how to bring it up or if it’s asking too much at this stage. We matched on a dating app at the end of September and went on our first date about a week later. We’ve been on five dates total and text to some extent every day, although some days we talk more than others. Would it be weird to ask if he wants to talk on the phone sometimes? How would you bring it up without making it feel like a big deal? And is it reasonable to want that kind of communication this early on? submitted by /u/Public_Particular_65 to r/dating_advice [link] [comments]
