Edwin Abasa, Brand Manager at Roofings Group says the project is 80% completeThe Shs3.5 billion redevelopment of Kasubi Family Primary School in Rubaga Division, sponsored by Roofings Group, is nearing completion, with the first phase now 80 percent complete.The project, which commenced several months ago, is expected to be fully completed by the end of the year, according to Edwin Abasa, Brand Manager at Roofings Group.Speaking during an inspection of the works on Tuesday, Abasa said the first phase involves construction and rehabilitation of key school facilities. Once completed, learners currently studying in temporary shelters will return to permanent classrooms, paving way for the second phase.“This school was in a very bad shape. There were wrangles. Some people wanted to grab the land. In that process, they demolished part of the school. That worsened the situation. Learners had nowhere to shelter,” Abasa said.He explained that the school was identified for support under Roofings Group’s ‘Education Forever’ corporate social responsibility pillar.“Our chairman was looking around for where to support as part of our CSR pillar, Education Forever, and we were able to identify this school for redevelopment. With the partnership of KCCA, the wrangles have since been resolved,” he added.Abasa noted that Kasubi Family Primary School was prioritised because it is the only government-aided school in the area, serving families in Kasubi and surrounding communities.Prolonged land disputes and the partial demolition of the school had left learners without adequate classrooms, forcing them to study in temporary structures.According to Abasa, the entire redevelopment, being undertaken from the ground up, will cost Shs3.5 billion.He expressed optimism that the improved facilities will attract more learners, enhance academic performance and encourage retention by providing a safer and more conducive learning environment.“We are glad to have embarked on this project and will continue to do more for not only Kasubi but whichever school may be in such need,” Abasa said.The post Roofings Group Breathes New Life into Kasubi Family Primary School as Shs3.5bn Redevelopment Project 80% Complete appeared first on Business Focus.
