XAUUSD — Value Acceptance Around 4,110GoldOANDA:XAUUSDCameron_Wells_Xau Auction State XAUUSD on H1 remains in a directional lower auction. Price has moved decisively away from the previous upper distribution near 4,180–4,190, lost the former rising support structure, and is now spending more time around 4,105–4,115. The latest macro backdrop is becoming slightly less restrictive, but Gold has not yet responded with meaningful higher acceptance. Gold eased around 0.3% on Tuesday as traders weighed the Fed outlook; recent Fed communication has reduced expectations for an October hike, while markets still assign roughly a 92% probability of another increase in December. The October 27–28 Fed meeting and next week's PCE inflation report are the next major policy catalysts. At the same time, the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield eased toward 5.12%, the dollar index fell about 0.25%, and oil prices declined. The fact that Gold remains under pressure despite some relief in yields and the dollar makes the current lower-value acceptance technically important. Where Value Sits A complete Volume Profile is not displayed, so POC, VAH and VAL should not be assumed. The clearest developing lower-value area is now around 4,105–4,115, marked on the chart as Lower Value Acceptance. Price repeatedly trading inside this region would indicate that the market is becoming increasingly comfortable doing business below the previous distribution. Above, 4,132–4,139 represents the First Value Reclaim area. The larger lower distribution remains around 4,078–4,086, marked as Major Lower Value. Higher up, the former auction around 4,180–4,190 remains distant and sits beneath the descending H1 dynamic resistance. Buyer vs Seller Acceptance Seller acceptance currently has the advantage. The important change is that 4,130–4,140 is no longer acting as stable value. Price has moved beneath it and is now attempting to establish two-way trade closer to 4,110. A rebound toward 4,130–4,139 would therefore be an acceptance test rather than confirmation that buyers have regained control. If H1 reaches that area but quickly rotates back beneath 4,120, the market would be rejecting higher prices and confirming that value remains anchored lower. Main Auction Scenario The main scenario is a responsive rotation toward First Value Reclaim followed by continued lower-value exploration if acceptance fails. Price may initially rotate from 4,105–4,115 toward approximately 4,130–4,139. If the market fails to build sustained acceptance there, another rotation back toward Lower Value becomes likely within the current auction structure. A temporary response from 4,105–4,115 could again lift price toward the low-4,120s, but continued failure to rebuild higher value would keep 4,078–4,086 Major Lower Value as the next meaningful auction reference. The key question is not whether Gold produces a bounce, but whether any rebound can establish time and acceptance above abandoned value. Key Auction Levels - 4,180–4,190 — Former upper distribution / H1 dynamic resistance - 4,132–4,139 — First Value Reclaim - 4,130.8 — Important reclaim reference - 4,105–4,115 — Lower Value Acceptance - 4,078–4,086 — Major Lower Value Thesis Failure The lower-value thesis would begin to weaken if H1 reclaims 4,132–4,139 and starts maintaining sustained acceptance above that region rather than immediately rotating lower. That would indicate that the current lower distribution is being rejected and that the auction is beginning to repair upward. Auction View XAUUSD is currently showing increasing acceptance around 4,105–4,115, keeping the H1 auction oriented toward lower value. Can 4,132–4,139 attract genuine re-acceptance, or does another rejection keep 4,078–4,086 Major Lower Value exposed?
