I kept telling myself my scrolling was free. It is not free if your time is worth anything. So I built Hourly Bleed. You set your hourly rate and pick the sites that distract you. The toolbar badge then keeps a running total of what today has cost you at that rate. It turns red past $40, which I hit more often than I want to admit. At $85 an hour, the example bill on my site is $61.20 for a day: $27.63 on Reddit, $19.27 on X, $14.30 on YouTube. It is not a blocker, it just shows you the bill. It pauses when you are idle or Chrome is not focused, everything stays local in your browser, and there is no account. It is $8.99 once, no subscription, licensed through Lemon Squeezy. Without a license the extension stays locked. Chrome Web Store: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/hourly-bleed/iepnhnhcopafngccbhfocaggmfnfjpjk Site: https://hourly-bleed.pages.dev/ I am the person who made it. Honest feedback is welcome, especially on whether seeing the number actually changes your behavior. For me, some days it does and some days I just watch it climb. submitted by /u/sevorghikes [link] [comments]
