Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission has stopped the election process for 100 urban local bodies as directed by the Supreme Court. This includes 13 Municipal Corporations and 87 Municipalities, among others. The halt comes after YSRCP filed a petition challenging the nomination deadline extension refusal. The Supreme Court ordered a postponement of the final candidate list publication until October 25.
