Gold Morning Map, Thu 22 Oct: R1 held, the map is finishedGold - CashCMCMARKETS:GOLDRealMichaelNeoMORNING MAP · Thursday 22 October R3 4167 R2 4152 R1 4144 Pivot 4129 S1 4115 S2 4106 S3 4092 Extension levels (reference only) 4066 (Asia low) 4046 The night so far Last night we said R1 was the battle point and the squeeze would break fast when it went. It broke. Gold pushed up to R1 at 4144 and sellers turned it straight back. Price came back through the pivot, S1, S2 and S3, and then flushed to 4066 in Asia before buyers stepped in. That's R1 to S3 in one night: $52 level to level, mapped before the move. Where price sits Gold is at 4087, sitting on S3. Bias: Lower. The map is finished Price has run through every zone on the map. When that happens, our rule is simple: the map is done for the day. • No S3 first touch: it's a squeeze day, and that play is for wide days only. • No chasing the flush and no guessing the bottom. • Beyond S3, the extension levels show where the next reactions could come: 4066, the Asia low the market already defended, and 4046 below it. They're reference points, not setups. Scalpers and intraday traders: stand aside, keep your capital, and wait for Friday's fresh levels. The bigger picture: swing and longer-term traders This is where the bigger view matters. On Monday we wrote that gold leans bearish below 4220. We said it again on Tuesday. When Monday's map went out, gold was at 4187. This morning it's at 4087, $100 lower, and the trend we named hasn't changed. For swing and longer-term traders, the view stays the same while price holds below 4210–4220: the trend is down, and trading with it beats fighting it. A scalper steps aside when the map finishes. A swing trader judges the trend, not the day. One view, published in advance, and the chart did the rest. Calendar (UK time) 13:30 US jobless claims. No Tier 1 release.
