Hi all, I wanted to share my situation in case anyone has been through something similar. I’ve been a nurse in the UK for 4 years, but my chronic condition (Still’s Disease) means my body can no longer cope with the physical demands and shift patterns of bedside care. It’s been a really difficult decision, but I know I need to prioritise my health — and I still want to use my nursing skills, just in a different way. I’m looking for remote nursing roles — things like clinical reviewing, telehealth support, or medical assessments. The one extra detail: I’m on a Skilled Worker Visa, so I need an employer who can offer sponsorship. It feels like a double hurdle sometimes, but I’m hopeful there are options out there. If anyone has found a remote-friendly role that suits a chronic condition, or knows companies that are open to sponsoring, I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences.
