A client of mine had six company mailboxes across Gmail and Outlook: info@, sales@, accounts@, support@, and a couple of personal ones. Everyone checked everything, and important emails still got missed or answered two days late. So I built InboxClerk. Here's what it does: - Pulls all the Gmail and Outlook / Microsoft 365 mailboxes into one team inbox - AI reads each new email and tags it with categories the team writes in plain English ("Billing: invoices, payment reminders, refunds") - Each category is routed to its own Slack channel or person, attachments included - The team can reply, forward, and get AI-drafted replies from the same screen. It never sends anything on its own. Demo (2 min): https://youtu.be/j4j37rtK4Dg It's been running live for that client for a while now, so I cleaned it up into something other teams can use. Stack: React + Vite, FastAPI, Supabase (Postgres, Realtime, pg_cron), Vercel, Gemini for tagging. Hardest parts: Gmail and Outlook notify you about new mail in completely different ways, so I built one sync layer with a once-a-minute backup check so nothing slips through. Getting tagging accurate. Plain-language category descriptions beat keyword rules by a mile. Google's OAuth rules for unverified apps shaped the whole design. It runs on the customer's own accounts, so their mail never touches my servers. I'd love feedback, especially from anyone running support@ or sales@ inboxes: what would stop you from using something like this? submitted by /u/Saleh_ahmad1 [link] [comments]
