Matty Cash called Nicolas Jackson and Zion Suzuki “unbelievable” signings for Aston Villa after playing key roles in Saturday’s 2-1 home win over Manchester City. The Villans inflicted a first defeat of the season on City after Jackson scored twice either side of Erling Haaland’s equaliser. Cash himself performed impressively on the day, shutting down the in-form Jeremy Doku while making 13 defensive contributions. “The manager gives us tasks but you have to take responsibility too, I do a lot of work on wingers, I think as a full back you have to try and get aggressive and it makes them difficult for them,” the full-back told TNT Sports after the full-time whistle. “I thought I did my task well. Getting close to him is the biggest challenge. I was watching clips of him this morning.”Cash hails ‘unbelievable’ Villa signings Jackson and SuzukiJackson has proven to be an excellent acquisition so far, scoring seven goals in all competitions since joining Villa from Chelsea in the summer transfer window. “Everyone has been really impressed with him,” said Cash. “His quality is unbelievable, as a striker he wants goals and he’s getting that.”Though Suzuki didn’t keep a clean sheet, his six saves proved crucial to Villa’s victory. “He’s brilliant, his first session when he came in, in the possession drill I thought we’d signed a midfielder. His vision is unbelievable, he catches crosses really well which as a full-back is a dream.”Villa began the campaign with a four-game winless run, but are now unbeaten in their last four Premier League outings to bring them up to sixth in the table, at least temporarily.“We had a lot of change at the start of the season, it was going to take time to gel and get comfortable with each other. Unai Emery is brilliant, having him stay is the main priority for us.”Read – Maresca laments avoidable Villa goals as City suffer first defeatSee Also – Five of the best Premier League away kits in 2026/27Follow the Football Faithful on Social Media:Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | YouTube | TikTokThe post Matty Cash hails two ‘unbelievable’ Villa signings following City win appeared first on The Football Faithful.
