Govt has told Supreme Court that hospitals overcharging patients for medicines and medical consumables is a malpractice. Its affidavit cites margins of 170% to 700% or more on anti-cancer drugs and 100% to 1,000% or more on hospital supplies, while saying it is examining possible interventions.
